Have you ever had to move away?

Yes?  No?

Imagine you were just told you had to move house, far away, just like Bruno.

What/Who would you miss most? How do you think you would handle this?

  1. I've never moved away for a long period of time, like a week at most, which was a trip, so no, I have not moved away.My best friend, Anna, we've known each other for 10 years. This may sound cheesy, but I couldn't imagine life without her, she's like an older sister to me, we spend every day together. I will follow her and listen and support her descisions. If my parents told me that we were moving, I would smack their head and scream, okay maybe not that, but I would think of doing that. I would cry if I left Anna behind, knowing I'd never see her again, she will always be my BFF.

  2. No, have never had to move away from my house. I feel like I wouldn’t be very happy if this were to ever happen to me. If this happened, then I would miss the location I live in. Montreal is a place I am very familiar with, to me Montreal is home. If I moved away from here I think I wouldn’t feel at ease and would instead feel great discomfort. It would take me a while to get used to the change, but after a while I would probably become comfortable with the fact that I moved far away from everything I knew. Over all, I think I would miss my friends the most. I have many friends that I have known for years, and these people would be very hard for me to just leave behind.

  3. I have never had to move away in my life. But if i ever had to move away I would mostly miss my friends and basically just living in the area that I live in right now.
I dont really know the way I would react if my parents told me that we had to move away. But if I had to react in some way it probably would be me having a temper tandrum for like 6 weeks.

  4. Yes, I already had to move away, and it was very sad because I have lived my whole life in just one town. I have friends that I know since I was a baby so I think that they are the thing that I miss the most about my home town. I also miss the food and sharing the same culture as people around me, even though this is an amazing experience. I reacted really well, but accepting and having to deal with everything and all the mixed feelings gave me a hard time, so it took me pretty much two months to digest it.

  5. For me I already know what it feels like and not just moving to Quebec but other places to I have moved many times before that as-well.The thing I miss the most is usually friends and the area and depending on how long you live there really affects you as-well.Yes definitely feel sad the first time, the way I dealt with it was by doing absolutely nothing about it.after a couple of times going threw that it got easier to deal with and i just understood that that's what I had to do, it was hard yes it was difficult but I was able to make new friends and meet new people and see new places!

  6. I think moving away would obviously be sad since you leave your friends and your childhood behind. I have never moved away and I don't see that happening in the future until I am maybe older. I would miss my friends that i have known for a good amount of time and my cousins, uncles and aunts since the majority of my family lives here.

  9. If I moved away I would probably miss my friends the most but due to technology I can still keep in touch with them. The reason behind this is because I’m not good at making friends just because I don’t really know how to react to people. If I moved away I feel like I would be really lonely and unable to socialize.

  10. No I never had to move away, if I were to just find out I was moving away I would probably be very sad because I would have to leave my friends and cousins, I would miss them so much. I would be able to contact them by technology but it wouldn’t be the same as seeing them in person and being able to hangout with them.

  12. If I would to move away to a far away place, it would be a huge burden for me. I would miss my family the most out of everyone else, as-well as my school friends. I would handle this dilemma very badly. I would probably feel sick, due to how much of a change it will be have a fresh start, in a new environment, filled with strangers everywhere. I would not take this lightly.

  13. I had to move far away as a kid. After preschool I moved to Cornwall for 3 years. Since I was a kid I didn't really miss anything but when we had come back to Montreal it was very difficult for me because I couldn't leave my friends and my house just seemed perfect at the time. When we got here I couldn't stop thinking about my old school, my old friends and my teachers. It was hard for me to make friends because I didn't know what to talk to the kids about because I moved during the middle of the year. After the year ended I slowly started to forget my old school and miss my friends less so that make me talk to new people and I made friends. If I had to move away again i would NOT take it lightly even though I can make friends anywhere I go now I would not be able to leave them like that. I would miss too many people. I would handle this by just talking to my friends via internet.

  14. If I were to move away to a far place, I would be devastated and find it hard to make new friends. Firstly because I would be leaving all of the people I have known and have known me. There are so many amazing people in this school that I would find it difficult or impossible to find outside of where I live. Also if I move away to a far place There would be no one but my family who would actually know me. This would make it even more difficult to make friends. The way I would handle this is, I would try to make the best out of the situation that I am in. I would do this by joining ECA's, such as the jazz band if the school has one. However, no matter how hard the situation might be I would try to I know that it would be a fun experience.

  15. I would enjoy making new friends and going to new places but I would also hate having to leave behind friends and family. When you meet people you can never replace them even maybe if there is someone you like more than them. There are relationships built, each and every single one of those relationships are unique to each individual you have met. It would suck a lot to have to restart with all of them and not revisit the old ones for awhile.

  17. I've never really had to move away in my life but the longest time I've moved away for was two months and that was for sleep away camp but if I had to move away like Bruno did, I would be very sad. If I was in Bruno's situation, I would miss a lot of things back home but the thing that I would probably miss the most would be my friends. I would miss my friends the most because I'm very close to all my friends and I think it would be hard to make new friends in a new place. If I were to move away, the smart way I think would be to handle the situation would be smart, responsible and to not complain because moving away from a place that you know very well is hard and stressful so I don't want to make the situation anymore difficult.

  18. The people I would miss the most if I had to leave Montreal would be for sure Eric and Gabe. I have been friends with Eric and Gabe for eight years and we do almost everything together. I would probably handle it by texting them very often and always keeping in touch with each other.

  19. the people I would miss the most would be my friends especially my grandparents. it would be hard to leave my friends because like I grew up with most of them and its just like all of the sudden I would have to leave them behind and start all over and make new ones, it would be tough. I would also miss my grandparents because they are a huge part of my life I always talk to them everyday and see them almost every day and i would miss seeing them.

  20. I've moved away 6 times, this is my sixth and the first one that is not in Brazil. Every time is a little bit different. The first and the second time I moved were ok because I was 6 and 7 years old, so I did not have a lot of friends and my family didn't live on that cities. The third and forth times were last year and it was so hard! My mom and my dad got divorced so my mother wanted to go live in the same city as her family.I went with her and lived there for six months but I missed my friends so badly that I ended up going back to live with my dad. And this year I already moved twice (fifth and sixth times), in February I went to live with my mom again, I loved it. And on June I came to Canada with my dad and it's awesome because everything is new, different and I'm learning 2 new languages! I miss Brazilian people, Brazilian things, my family and my friends a lot, but I know that is just for one year so it kind of comforts me.

  21. I've moved away 2 times. when I was young, my family move to the better house on the other side of city. But this time is different. I moved from thousand miles away from here ,and there is a land and a ocean called the Pacific Ocean that is the biggest ocean in the world. I move away from my country, my old classmate ,and my friends in my hometown, too. Those are the most I missed. But I am also curious about the different culture. One of my dream is travel throughout the world. However, no matter how big your dream is, or how great you is, there is still something you missed.
