In the novel, Bruno is a 9 -year-old boy who asks a lot of questions, loves adventures, hates his big sister, and often ignores the rules that are in place.
Think back to when you were around Bruno's age.
What kind of child were you?
Were you similar to Bruno? Explain.
(Ask your parents for help with this! I'm sure they can tell you.)
When I was Bruno's age I was super shy, most likely from when I was about 3 to 10. If someone told me something to do I would be quiet and do it. In my head I would always question things that didn't seem quite 100% to me. Although I would never speak out about them, I would always try and be nice and fair to everyone so that no one would feel left out or not like me for no reason. Nowadays I think that I was a pretty strange kid but that's the past so it's funny to look back on.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I was really shy.
Deletei was shy too
DeleteThat's a cool story.
DeleteI wasnt shy

When I was younger I was very shy around strangers, and would hide behind my mothers skirt when confronted by someone unknown. But when I was comfortable with the people surrounded me, I would be outgoing qwerty and bubbly. I would always preform dance routines, and act out plays I choreographed. But I was also well discipled and was very obedient. I didn’t have that much in common with Bruno, except that I did also love adventures.
ReplyDeleteSame :)
DeleteThat's really nice! I was a little like that too.
DeleteI was very shy, I still am. But i dont like to talk with strangers or people ive just met, wwhen i dont know anyone, i stick with my mom. but once i got to know the people i acted the way i wacted with my family: goofy and doing weird things. i didnt talk back and i didnt interrupt, unlike bruno. Anna, my bestie, knows how shy i was because when i first met her, when i was five, i was REALLY shy. but in grade three i was confudent and told people a lot of things and sometimes they made fun of me, so i switched schools and stayed really shy.
ReplyDeletewhen i was Bruno age i was very helpful around the house and took care of my brother and i was very shy but i was not scared of doing things that other people cant do or scared of doing and i was also the class clown and very excited all the time but now im more responsible and not so excited all the time and i also asked a lot of questions. i am like Bruno because i ask a lot of questions and im curious.
ReplyDeleteI was also very shy.

ReplyDeleteWhen I was around the same age as Bruno I acted very differently from what I am now. I acted very obedient but I was clueless of practically everything I played sports that I didn't know the rules too them. I found that I did this often... doing something without knowing the rules or what to do. I don't think I was similar to Bruno because I was just confused but I didn't ask questions and I was much more awkward.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid I was extremely shy, and didn't have many friends. Actually I had a lot of friends but they weren't close to me, they were just people I knew. I was really well-behaved and did everything my mother asked me to. I liked to stay at home and do my homework, and I really regret not being more active because I could have learned some skills that I would have today like playing sports or an instrument. I am similar to Bruno because I also had a lot of rules to follow and sometimes I didn't like them but I had to follow them anyways.
ReplyDeleteI'm the exact opposite of you as a kid haha.
DeleteWhen I was a kid I was more confident then I am now. I had lots of friends, and wanted to talk to everybody. However my older siblings were annoyed by me because I always wanted to hang out with their friends and wouldn't leave them alone. I was a pretty annoying kid. I wasn't as curious as Bruno, Bruno wants to know everything around him. All I wanted to do was play and be with friends.
ReplyDeletewhen i was Bruno age i was the type of kid who would walk away from my parents and go explore stuff like this one time at my brothers hockey tournament in Ottawa my mom thought my dad was taking me to the game and my dad thought my mom was bringing me so i was left alone at the hotel until my mom panicked because they didn't know where i was and 5 minutes later they get a call from one of the kids parents that plays on my brothers team whop said that i was alone going up and down in the elevator clicking all the buttons and just riding that was a fun experience.
ReplyDeleteWell that's a bit suprising coming from you
DeleteWhen I was around Bruno's age I was really shy and still am but a lot less than before. I was also curious and wanted to do a lot of the things that my older brother did. I basically copied whatever he was doing because I thought that it was cool. Curiosity is something found in Bruno so I guess I was similar to him in that way but not in the way of doing things with your siblings.

DeleteOOh i feel the same way #misterchoftw
Deletemy dad say's as a child I listened very well. for me I think I was like must kids at Bruno's age but I was also very daring to do things and very curious at the same time. In the complex I lived in at the time there was a forest in the back that I would go around with my friends and explore.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was Bruno's age I played a lot of video games so I didn't really ask questions because I didn't really care because I had my face in a screen most of the time. When I was outside I was curious trying to explore everything.
ReplyDeleteI'm the opposite I would ask too many questions
DeleteWhen I was Bruno's age I was well- behaved and seldom makes my mom angry. When I saw some toy I liked but my mom didn't want to buy it, I put it back although I like it very much. I was also interested in science. I was curious about how the cloud form, where did I come, why the sky is blue ...If I compared to Bruno, I found that I have lot of things in common with him except for naughty.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was around the same age as Bruno I acted like the person to go up to a random person my age and make them be my friend like once when i went to cuba with my mom, dad and sister there was this girl maybe one year older than me and i went up to her and talked to her and than we became best friends for the rest or the trip so we went to the waterslides together and everything now that i think of it now it's actually pretty funny
ReplyDeleteWhen I was Bruno’s age I was a nerd I knew more than I should of and loved to play chess. In grade 4 I won a gold medal in a solo chess tournament and the next year won silver in a team tournament. In grade two I was the second smartest kid in math and was at least ten topics ahead of everyone else. I am nowhere near similar to Bruno because I don’t have any similar traits.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was Brunos age I was the kind of kid that used to go outside all the time. I never was really into exploring things but I did like going on bike rides to places ive never been, which was really dangerous because I never had my parents come with me it was just me and my neighboor. But anyways when I was nine I had a few similar traits like the fact that we both like going on adventures but I think that, thats it and I dont think I have another similar traits with Bruno.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was around the same age as Bruno I was very talkative and still am, I was also very active and very hyper. I was a very well behaved child, I used to listen very well and follow the rules. I also loved to play with my brothers and friends. I loved doing sports and loved staying outdoors.
ReplyDeleteSame!!!
DeleteWhen I was Bruno's age, I wasn't like him. I was a very energetic kid who loved playing outside, doing sports, playing video games and playing with my friends. I also don't hate my sibling I actually enjoy spending time with my younger brother. In the novel, Bruno asks a lot of questions because his mind can't figure it out but when I was his age, I never really asked questions, I just tried to figure it out myself for the experience. I also always listen to the rules because my parents were really tough on manners and proper behaviour and the punishments were bad if I broke any of the rules so I wasn't at all like Bruno when I was his age.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a child I remember that I used to love to perform for my family (dances or songs even though I wasn't good on anything). I also loved to make new friends, and I was very good at this, and to play with all the kinds of stuff. I was very communicative, happy and very curious about the world around me. Like Bruno, I wanted to know and understand everything, even things that i wasn't supposed to, and sometimes I got in trouble and had to stay grounded for a few minutes. But the rules at my house weren't as rigid as the rules at Bruno's house. I liked my childhood, and sometimes I miss it.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was Bruno age I was like him I was a good child I would always would ask questions about anything. I would always wanted to understand what everybody was doing and why. However I want to always know where we were going and why I would always talk to the point my parents would want to play the quit game, and I would always loses
